MetaGer

MetaGer protects privacy by operating without advertisements, tracking, or logging. The platform does not keep any data about your searches, as the search engine is built so that fighting spam doesn't require logs. When using MetaGer's anonymous browsing feature, websites cannot see who you are or where you're browsing from, and everything is automatically deleted once your session ends.

A MetaGer key is a randomly generated access credential that is created automatically with no sign-up or personal details required. The key is the only thing needed to use MetaGer. A one-time payment adds credit to your key in the form of tokens, which activates ad-free, tracking-free search and anonymous browsing. The same key can be used on multiple devices or shared with friends and family.

Approximately 500 tokens cost €5 and usually last around 2 months of usage. Tokens remain valid for 2 years from purchase, and there is no standing order or automatic renewal required.

Yes. MetaGer is designed so that you do not need to provide any personal data like your name or email address. You simply get a randomly generated key to access the service. For payment, MetaGer offers multiple payment methods, including fully anonymous cash payment options, to minimize the personal data that must be collected.

MetaGer is developed and run by SUMA-EV, a nonprofit organization with the full name Association for Free Access to Knowledge. The organization is committed to making digital knowledge freely accessible without paternalism or control by states or corporations.
